Yesterday, Toyota China issued a statement on the recall of more than 710,000 models of Camry, Venza and Tacoma in the United States, Canada and Mexico, saying that the recall does not involve the Chinese market due to the absence of related issues in the Chinese factory.

The recalled models of Toyota in the United States, Canada and Mexico include a total of more than 210,000 units of the Camry and SUV “Venza” produced in 2008-2011. There are also more than half a million Tacoma vehicles from 2004 to 2008. The reasons for the recall were brake light switch problems, airbag hidden dangers and steering device issues.

Toyota China stated that the above failures were caused by the manufacturing problems of the specific production line of the specific factory. Toyota's production lines in factories in Japan, China, and other countries and regions did not have the same operations, and it was confirmed that the same problems do not exist. In addition, the above-mentioned target vehicles have not been introduced into China through formal channels, so this recall does not involve the Chinese market.
