Ron Wolkoff recently shared a collection of photos featuring fire department vehicles that haven't been posted on the website yet. These images offer a glimpse into some of the equipment used by local emergency services.
The first image shows an ambulance from the Streamwood Fire Department, unit 33. It's a great addition to the archive and gives a sense of the department's fleet. The photo was taken by Ron Wolkoff.
Another shot features a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe belonging to the Hoffman Estates Fire Department’s Battalion Chief. This vehicle is a common sight in the area, and Ron captured it in excellent detail.
A third photo showcases a 2011 Ford Expedition used by the Rolling Meadows Fire Department for Battalion 15. It's another example of the everyday vehicles that support emergency operations in the region.
The final image is of a 1989 Ford Darley fire engine found at a used car lot on the corner of Rand Road and Hicks Road in Palatine. This old engine has been sitting there for some time, and Ron is hoping someone can provide more information about its history or origin. He's curious to know where it came from and what role it played in the past.
These photos are a valuable contribution to the community’s record of emergency vehicles and could spark interesting discussions or lead to more historical insights. Thanks to Ron for sharing these unique glimpses into local fire service history.
