As seen around … O’Hare Airport

I recently had the chance to visit Chicago O'Hare Airport and was lucky enough to snap some photos of their impressive fleet of emergency vehicles. The images you see here were taken by Gordon J. Nord, Jr., who has an incredible eye for capturing these powerful machines in action. The first image shows one of the airport's E-ONE fire engines, ready to respond at a moment's notice. It’s an imposing sight with its bold design and state-of-the-art features. Next up is another E-ONE fire engine, showcasing the airport's dedication to safety and preparedness. Following that is a support unit that plays a crucial role in maintaining operations during emergencies. Its presence ensures that every aspect of the airport's emergency response is covered. Then there's the Spartan ERV fire engine, which looks both robust and efficient—perfect for tackling any situation that arises. Finally, I couldn’t miss out on photographing the rehab unit, essential for providing care to personnel during long shifts or stressful incidents. Each vehicle highlights the professionalism and meticulous planning behind Chicago O'Hare’s emergency services. These photos really give you a sense of how seriously the airport takes safety and readiness. It’s fascinating to see all the different types of equipment they have on hand. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to keep such a major hub running smoothly under pressure, these images offer a glimpse into that world.
