Chillicothe hires AMT for EMS

PJSTAR.com recently published an article detailing the recent shift in emergency medical services (EMS) in Chillicothe, where AMT (Advanced Medical Transport) has officially taken over as the new provider, replacing the suspended Rescue 33 Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The transition marks a significant change for the community, which had relied on Rescue 33 for decades. The Rescue 33 garage was notably quiet on Tuesday as the ambulance service prepared to contest its permanent suspension by the Peoria Area EMS. Rescue 33 had still responded to a few calls overnight before the suspension officially took effect at 6 a.m. The group now has 15 days to formally challenge the decision. Chillicothe Fire Chief John Myers confirmed that AMT will cover all the areas previously served by Rescue 33, putting an end to speculation about other providers stepping in. An AMT ambulance was seen parked at Chillicothe Fire Station No. 1 on Tuesday, signaling the start of the new arrangement. Myers explained that the decision on which ambulance responds to an emergency is typically made by the local fire chief. He admitted the timing was tight, as he was notified late Thursday night and had little time to prepare for the transition. Rescue 33 historically covered a large portion of Chillicothe, including parts of Marshall County, serving approximately 15,000 people. The service operated with volunteers for much of its history, never charging for its assistance. However, in recent years, the squad began hiring part-time EMTs, which has increased operational costs significantly. According to Rescue 33 President Ron Hedden, transitioning to full-time paid staff could cost between $300,000 and $400,000. The organization depends heavily on donations and fundraising events. One such event, Bailey’s Labor Day Breakfast, raised over $19,000 so far, according to Hedden. “We appreciate everyone’s support, and we’ll keep the community updated as soon as we have more information,” said Hedden. Residents have also rallied behind Rescue 33, with a Facebook group called "Save Our Ambulance" gaining traction. Volunteers collected signatures for petitions during the breakfast, showing continued public backing for the long-standing service. AMT, a non-profit organization, operates 32 Advanced Life Support ambulances across several communities, including Peoria, Pekin, Streator, Mercer County, and Dubuque, Iowa. According to their website, they are committed to providing reliable and accessible emergency care. The transition from Rescue 33 to AMT has left many in the community concerned about the future of local emergency response. While AMT promises coverage, questions remain about how quickly they can adapt and whether the new system will be as responsive as the volunteer model that once defined the area. PE Shink Film

PE heat shrink film, also known as polyethylene heat shrink film, is a type of plastic film that is used for packaging and wrapping products. It is made from polyethylene, a thermoplastic material that becomes soft and pliable when heated and then shrinks tightly around the item it is covering as it cools.

PE heat shrink film is commonly used in various industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and retail. It provides protection and tamper-evident packaging for products, ensuring their integrity during transportation and storage.

The film is typically applied using heat shrink machines or heat guns, which apply heat to the film, causing it to shrink and conform to the shape of the product. The film has excellent clarity, allowing for easy visibility of the packaged item, and it can be printed on for branding and labeling purposes.
