In the new era, with the prominent food problems and the shift from extensive to profitable agricultural production, the boom in the application of grain drying technology has once again set off in the north. In view of the large scale of grain production in the northern region, large and medium-sized grain drying equipment has developed rapidly, and there are only 20 manufacturers in the Northeast. This has also led to the development of drying dryers in the southern region. Drying Machines based on dried wheat have emerged one after another, and research on wheat drying technology has also been mentioned on the agenda. At present, there are more than 50 manufacturers of wheat dryers in the country, and there are two foreign-funded companies.
The development of wheat dryers in various provinces is uneven. The level of mechanization in the economically more developed regions is less than that of advanced provinces, and there is a wide gap. As for the backward areas, the level of mechanization is even lower and the gap is even greater. The drying rate of wheat machinery in Guangdong Province and Jiangsu Province is relatively high. In 1999, Guangdong Province formulated the goals and measures for the realization of the mechanization of drying of wheat in 2005 to promote the development of eco-friendly wheat drying mechanization. On the one hand, it will increase its research investment, develop its own drying machine that is suitable for the geographical conditions of Guangdong Province and the actual production of rice, and on the other hand, it will purchase purchase subsidies and introduce drying equipment from abroad to establish a drying center. However, the effect was not obvious. The drying center for investment was difficult to operate. At present, the mechanized drying rate of wheat in Guangdong Province is less than 5%.

Relatively developed regions have relatively large amounts of environmentally friendly paddy rice dryers, while less developed regions have relatively small amounts of environmentally friendly wheat dryers. Some provinces are basically blank. Therefore, there are many promotion tasks that can be done. The annual output of wheat is 164.7 million tons. If an environmentally friendly wheat dryer with a daily processing capacity of 20 tons is used, and the annual operation period is calculated based on 1.5 months, then an environment-friendly rice drying machine will have a daily capacity of 900 tons and 164.7 million tons of rice. With mechanical drying, 183,000 sets of environmentally friendly wheat dryers are needed. Even if 60% of the wheat is mechanically dried, the country still needs 109,800 sets. However, at present, the number of eco-friendly wheat dryers in each province can only be measured in thousands of units. It can be seen that the gaps in eco-friendly wheat dryers are huge and the promotion tasks are arduous.
