Crash with extrication in Buffalo Grove, 6/7/15

This is from Larry Shapiro:

Buffalo Grove firefighters were called to McHenry Road and the entrance of The Grove shopping center, north of Lake-Cook Road, early this morning (June 7, 2015) after a two-car collision. One of the vehicles was flipped over on its side. Battalion 4 arrived on scene and reported that two SUVs were involved, with one partially hanging over an embankment into a drainage culvert.

The two people in the car that was still on the road declined medical treatment, while the other two occupants were trapped inside the vehicle and required rescue. Firefighters used rescue jacks to stabilize the car and secured it to the fire truck’s quint. Tools were then used on both sides of the vehicle to free the trapped individuals.

Here are some photos from the scene. I’ll be posting more tomorrow, including a video of the operation.
