It is reported that Eastman has planned to build a world-class polyester plant together with its partners. The project will use Eastman's IntegRex technology, which will more closely combine the raw materials produced by PET with the polymerization stage, which will result in significant cost savings. This technology eliminates the need for a dedicated solid state cell to make bottle-grade resins, which can reduce molding costs by 30%.
