Still & Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 3-26-17

Excerpts from the Chicago Tribune:

At around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, Chicago firefighters were called to a fire at a vacant building located at 6159 West Dickens Avenue on the city’s Northwest Side. The incident was quickly escalated to a box alarm as the situation developed.

By 10 p.m., the fire had been fully extinguished. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, but no serious conditions were reported.

Here’s what José Guillén shared:

I took these photos using my phone camera of the Still & Box at the old Zenith TV and radio factory. I grew up in the neighborhood and was visiting my parents when I heard about the fire. It was quite a sight to see the emergency crews in action. Thanks for sharing this story.
