Here's a report from Daniel Hynd: West Chicago Fire Protection District (FPD) responded to a fire at 116 Main St in taxpayer on May 19, 2024. The call initially came in as an AFA (Alarm for Assistance), but upon arrival, Battalion 6 reported heavy smoke coming from the roof. Firefighters quickly identified a fire in the cockloft and worked swiftly to contain it using hand lines and Wheaton Fire Department’s tower. The crews managed to bring the situation under control without any injuries reported.
