The first set of production photos from the Ferrara plant have already been released, offering a sneak peek at both units. Algonquin also recently received a new ambulance from Medtec this spring, marking another upgrade in their emergency response capabilities. In other news, Countryside Fire Protection District, which operates under Lake County, is preparing for the arrival of a new Horton ambulance and a custom-built tender from US Tank. Glenview Fire Department has reportedly placed an order for two new engines from Pierce. Both will feature the Arrow XT cab and chassis, but the designs will differ. One unit will follow the conventional pumper style similar to engines 6 and 7, while the second will be a rescue-style configuration, akin to engine 8, which was recently showcased online. Huntley Fire Department is also preparing for a new addition—specifically, an IHC 4300 Type I ambulance from Medtec, which is expected to arrive soon. Lastly, Highland Park Fire Department is in the early stages of planning for a new ambulance. Their current fleet consists of Type III units on E-Series Ford chassis, but the upcoming unit will be a significant shift. It will be a Type I ambulance built on a Ford F-Series chassis, signaling a modernization effort aimed at improving efficiency and performance.
