At present, the joint venture of Dongfeng Volvo has entered a countdown period. The future joint venture will produce medium and heavy trucks of Volvo and Dongfeng brands. Among them, Volvo brand products will be put into the new product line on the basis of Hangzhou Dongfeng Hangfeng, which is mainly Volvo heavy truck. At present, the new product line is already in preparation.

At present, the size and nature of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles in Shiyan remain unchanged, and it is still the headquarters of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company. After the joint venture, Dongfeng Tianlong and Dongfeng Tianjin Heavy-duty Cards produced by Shiyan still carry the Dongfeng “Double Swift” logo.

However, Dongfeng Volvo's joint venture can't talk about "the weather." At present, sales in the domestic heavy truck market have been severely declining. According to the statistics of the first commercial vehicle network, from January to May of this year, the heavy truck market sold a total of 320,600 vehicles, a decrease of 33.1% year-on-year. Among them, Dongfeng heavy truck accumulated sales of 69,500 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 30.4%; FAW and Sinotruk cumulative sales of 55,400 heavy trucks and 55,200 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 27.4% and 34.9%. Shanxi Automobile and Futian, who are in the second tier, respectively sold 43,000 heavy trucks and 40,600 heavy trucks, down 27.1% and 28.4% respectively. The decline in each of the third tiers exceeds 40%.

It is reported that many car companies are currently cutting production. Although the decline of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles is lower than that of the entire industry, the current working hours of employees have been adjusted to “the last four days and three rests” to reduce the sales pressure brought by production.
