Chicago Fire Department (IL) Mobile Rehab Vehicle

This brand-new mobile rehab unit was recently delivered to the Chicago Fire Department, offering a high level of comfort and functionality for emergency responders. Built on a Freightliner MT-55G chassis, the vehicle is powered by a TQS 308HP V8 engine and paired with an Allison 2200HS automatic transmission for smooth performance. The all-aluminum body is designed for durability and includes several Extreme Duty storage compartments for essential firefighting gear.

A custom aluminum flip-down step entry makes it easy for personnel to access the unit, while a power-retractable awning on the curbside provides shade during hot days. A Rosco Vision 360° camera system ensures full visibility around the vehicle, enhancing safety and convenience. An Igloo 5-gallon water dispenser is mounted securely at the rear with a truck mount bracket, making hydration accessible on the go.

Inside, the vehicle features a sliding cab divider door that separates the driver area from the main workstation. A single commercial-grade cabinet offers organized storage, with a dry-erase board on the door for quick notes. Fixed bench seats are installed on both the driver and passenger sides, and overhead grab bars provide added support. Dual Klimaire mini-split heat pump systems keep the interior comfortable year-round, complemented by ventilation fans for air circulation.

In colder months, a direct discharge furnace ensures warmth, while an Onan Commercial Quiet gas generator supplies reliable power. The unit is also prewired for communications radios, making it ready for integration with departmental systems. This well-equipped rehab vehicle is a valuable asset for the Chicago Fire Department, supporting crews in the field with comfort and efficiency.
