Brazil's national supply company released its first grain production forecast report for 2012 to 2013 on the 9th, saying that the country's food production in 2013 is expected to reach 177.7 million to 182.3 million tons, which is 7.2% to 10% higher than this year's increase.

The report believes that the reduction of food production in the United States has stimulated an increase in the sown area in Brazil, resulting in an increase in grain output. It is estimated that the land sown area will reach 50.93 million to 52.21 million hectares next year, an increase of 0.2% to 2.7% over the previous year.

Among them, the growth of soybean planting area is the most obvious and will reach 26.4 million to 27.3 million hectares, an increase of 5.6% from the previous year to 9.2%. It is expected that soybean production will reach 82.8 million tons next year, an increase of nearly 25% year-on-year.

In addition, given the continuous rise in international market prices, corn will continue to be pursued next year after it has achieved a record 72.6 million tons of production. Production is expected to reach 73.2 million tons.

Brazil is an important food producer and exporter in the world. Soybean is the world’s second largest producer and exporter, corn is the third largest producer, and corn exports are among the top five in the world. China is an important customer of Brazilian soybeans. Nearly two-thirds of the soybeans exported by Brazil last year were exported to China.
