Counting the companies that Japan’s lawsuits in 2016
Recently, Niahua said that the Dusseldorf Appeals Court of Germany had made a judgment on January 20, 2017, and found that Taiwan Hongqi Technology's four white LED products infringed the YAG patent of Nichia. In this lawsuit, Nichia requested the court to issue an injunction against the sale and distribution of infringing LED lighting products (including Meridian13wEquivalentBrightWhiteG24Non-DimmableLEDBulb (#13183)) and to compensate for the damages that have occurred. On the same day, it also filed a lawsuit against the US-based LowesCompanies, Inc. and its subsidiary LGSourcing, Inc., in the US District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, for infringement of US Patent 7,915,631. In this lawsuit, Nichia requested the court to issue an injunction against the sale and distribution of infringing LED lighting products (including Utilitech Pro48-inchStripLight (#0595683)) and to compensate for the damages that have occurred. On June 13, 2016, Nichia announced a patent infringement lawsuit against US retailers and distributors, Fett Electric, Meridian and Lloyd's, and believed that the LED bulbs they sold infringed the company's patents. Nichia represents Fate's BPOM60/830/LED lamp, Lloyd's Utilitech Pro 24-bar lamp; Meridian's decorative pleated LED nightlight and LED26W equivalent energy-saving lamp infringe the company's patent. In addition, the company is seeking damages for past infringements by three dealers. On March 21, 2016, Nichia was suing the US federal district court in East Texas for suing a US LCD TV manufacturer for infringing its US patent US 8,530,250.
