According to foreign media reports on March 9, Japan's Mazda and Toyota Motor Corporation joint venture will open a new car manufacturing plant in Alabama, USA.
Mazda and Toyota previously announced the formation of a new joint venture called Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, or MTMUS. The newly established MTMUS company has been in operation for some time. The company announced that it will soon build a new car factory in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.
Mazda and Toyota have invested 50% in this newly formed joint venture. The new MTMUS plant will produce 150,000 Mazda SUVs per year and 150,000 Corolla compact cars for Toyota. Each car manufacturer will invest $800 million in the plant, with a total investment of $1.6 billion.
Mazda executives, who will be the president of MTMUS, said: "We want to make MTMUS bigger and stronger in the local area.
