Northlake Box Alarm

Yesterday evening, the Northlake Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire at 412 N. Laporte Avenue. Upon their arrival, firefighters were met with intense smoke billowing out from every side of the building. Recognizing the severity of the situation, they quickly escalated the response by activating a MABAS Box Alarm, which brought additional support from multiple departments within MABAS Division 20. Just moments after the initial units arrived, Dave Traiforos made his way to the scene and captured several compelling images that documented the efforts of the responding firefighters. His photographs vividly depict the challenging conditions faced by the crews as they worked tirelessly to contain the blaze. One striking image shows thick smoke pouring out of the basement windows and first-floor openings, highlighting the urgency of the situation. Another photograph captures firefighters donning their masks on the front steps, preparing to enter the burning home. A third shot highlights the firefighters standing by with a hose, ready to tackle the flames that had already penetrated through the floor. Dave Traiforos has compiled a comprehensive gallery of photos and videos from the event, offering a detailed look at the entire incident. You can view the full collection [here]. Additionally, the Franklin Park Herald-Journal (part of Sun Times Media) has published an article providing further details about the fire, which you can read [here]. This fire serves as a reminder of the bravery and dedication of our local firefighters who work around the clock to keep our communities safe. Their swift action undoubtedly helped prevent further damage and potential loss of life.
