3000 tons of sulfur transport ship smoothly launched in Wenling, Zhejiang

On July 31, China launched its first 3,000-ton liquid sulfur transport ship, "Hisense," at Jiaoshan Port in Wenling City, Zhejiang Province. The vessel was designed and built by a Beijing-based petrochemical company, with construction carried out by Zhejiang Tenglong Shipyard, a renowned shipbuilding enterprise. It successfully passed the inspection of the China Classification Society, marking a significant milestone in China's maritime industry. The "Hisense" is 89.8 meters long, 15 meters wide, and has a draft of 7.6 meters. Previously, the production of liquid sulfur transport ships was dominated by Japan and South Korea due to the high technical challenges involved. This new development not only showcases China's growing expertise in specialized shipbuilding but also opens up new possibilities for domestic and international trade. With this achievement, China is now able to compete on a global scale in the field of chemical transportation, reducing dependency on foreign manufacturers. Experts believe that the successful launch of the "Hisense" could pave the way for more advanced and specialized vessels in the future, further strengthening China’s position in the global shipping market.
