Since 2004, the waste water treatment of Hengyang Shuikoushan Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd. has been included in the province's environmental pollution deadline treatment project. The province's environmental protection three-year action plan clearly requires the treatment of waste water containing biological waste by new biologic technology. The project must be completed by the end of December 2005.

Processing technology hinders governance

However, in the process of construction design, it is difficult to realize industrialization due to the use of biosorption columns. The required adsorption columns are relatively large and occupy a large area and cannot be constructed on site. For this reason, Shuikoushan Nonferrous Metal Group Co., Ltd. A number of studies have been carried out with design units, authoritative scientific research units, and experts and professors. It was finally determined that the biosorption column was changed to a biosorption cell, and the effect was basically the same. Therefore, on May 20, 2006, the wastewater treatment project containing strontium was officially started.

After the completion of the project, the annual discharge of 1.2 million tons of sewage, the relevant person in charge of the sixth smelting plant of Shuikoushan introduced that the project started recently will not only treat the wastewater containing strontium, but also fully consider the recycling of industrial wastewater. After the completion of the project, the recycling rate of industrial wastewater will reach 78%, and the annual discharge of sewage to the Xiangjiang River will be about 1.2 million tons, while the concentration of radon in industrial wastewater will be less than 5 μg/L, reaching the Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard.

After the construction period is officially put into use, the water quality of the Xiangjiang River will be significantly improved, so that the water content of the Xiangjiang Songbai to Hengyang section is less than 0.2 μg/L, reaching the standard of drinking water and eliminating a major hidden danger of the Xiangjiang River. The project is expected to be completed in October this year.
