Lemont FPD tanker for sale
The Lemont Fire Protection District is seeking sealed bids for the sale of a surplus water tender. This 1998 International chassis was originally purchased new by the district and has been in continuous service since then. The stainless-steel tank, which was previously used on a 1986 water tender, was remounted to this chassis in 1998. The vehicle is currently being replaced with a newer model and is now available for sale.
This water tender is in excellent condition, with only 29,950 miles and 3,520 engine hours. It has been regularly maintained by an in-house mechanic, and the fire pump was recently replaced in 2017. All graphics representing the Lemont Fire Protection District will be removed before the sale, along with any additional equipment. The buyer will also receive all service records for the vehicle.

Bids will not be accepted by fax, email, phone, or text. The deadline for submission is 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023. Sealed bids will be opened at the same time and place.
The vehicle can only be viewed by appointment at the Lemont Fire Station, 15900 New Avenue. Interested parties should contact Deputy Chief Matt Peksa at (708) 243-7652 or via email for arrangements.
Minimum bid is $30,000. The highest bidder will be awarded the contract. Bidders must provide an email address or phone number for notification of the award. Payment must be received within 10 business days of the notice, and can be made via ACH deposit, cash, or certified check payable to the Lemont Fire Protection District.
The buyer must remove the water tender from the premises within 5 business days of payment. Once payment is made, the sale is final, with no refunds or returns allowed.
The Lemont Fire Protection District reserves the right to reject any or all bids if it deems necessary.
