Facebook page: Congratulations to Chief Damon Schuldt and the entire team at the Kankakee Fire Department on the arrival of their brand-new 2017 Wheeled Coach Type I ambulance! This state-of-the-art unit is built on a Ford F450 4×4 chassis and features a Liquid Spring suspension system for enhanced comfort and stability during emergency responses. It also includes Whelen LED emergency lighting for maximum visibility and our custom "Coolbar" HVAC system, ensuring a comfortable environment for both crew and patients. This marks KFD’s first purchase of a Wheeled Coach ambulance, and we're thrilled to have them join the Fire Service family. The unit is currently being prepared with its final lettering and will be officially put into service soon. We’ll share more photos once it's all set and ready to roll!
