The Last Dash CF from Pierce is now in the hands of Central County Fire Rescue. This is FPD 1 of 3 engines, and it's a special one.
The truck has been uniquely painted with graphics honoring all U.S. veterans and military branches.
Jim Johnson, President of Pierce, shared some words about this remarkable vehicle.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor—a powerful moment to unveil our newest fleet addition: the American Veteran Fire Truck by Pierce.
This honor was inspired by Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, who lost his life during a non-combatant evacuation in Kabul, Afghanistan. His sacrifice sparked the idea to dedicate a fire truck in his name.
But we didn’t stop there. Our community believes in honoring all veterans, not just one individual. We wanted something that would resonate with every patriot in our area.
At CCFR, our mission is “Working Together, Supporting Our Community.” Honoring our veterans is one of the most meaningful ways we can support those who have served—whether in war or peace, at home or abroad.
We are proud to present the American Veteran Fire Truck as a symbol of our nation’s pride and deep respect for those who have given so much. It will soon be stationed at Firehouse #5, where residents will be able to see it up close.
