From RB: It all began after Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz was killed in action on August 26 while supporting non-combatant evacuation operations in Kabul, Afghanistan as part of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. That tragedy sparked the idea to honor him with a fire truck. But we knew that wasn’t enough — we wanted to create something that would resonate with every patriot in our community. At CCFR, our mission is “Working Together, Supporting Our Community,†and nothing embodies that more than showing support for those who have served. Whether they fought in war or protected peace, whether on home soil or overseas, every veteran deserves our respect and gratitude — regardless of political or religious beliefs. This truck stands as a symbol of our pride in this nation and our deep love for those who have given so much. We’re expecting to take delivery of the truck in the coming months, and we’ll invite residents to see it up close at Fire Station #5. For now, here’s a sneak peek at the American Veteran Fire Truck.
